About Us

LymeCareNow is a medical practice dealing exclusively in treating tick-bites and managing their aftermath.

I began LymeCareNow when myriads of friends and family, bitten by ticks, had nowhere to turn for timely and educated care.

I myself contracted Lyme disease over 20 years ago, and was undiagnosed and misdiagnosed for over 15 years. Only then did I get the correct treatment, which changed my life.  This situation has made me acutely aware of the importance of inspection, detection, diagnosis and treatment when there is a chance of having been bitten by a tick.

I received my MD degree from Boston University School of Medicine and completed residencies in Internal Medicine at Montefiore Hospital in the Bronx, Psychiatry at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Manhattan, and a fellowship Consultation and Treatment of Psychiatric Issues in the Medically Ill at Long Island Jewish Hospital. In addition to board certification in Psychiatry and Neurology, I have recently received Board Certification in Integrative and Holistic Medicine, and am “board-eligible” in internal medicine. These qualifications help me focus on treating the person, not just the disease, and provides many additional choices beyond traditional “allopathic” (western) medicine.

As a Psychiatrist, I have discovered that patients I had been treating for psychiatric problems sometimes had Neurological-Lyme, or “Neuroborreliosis” which produces a myriad of neuro-psychiatric symptoms. I’ve also had patients complain about “summer flu” and found that these patients had Lyme. Without having sought it out, I found I was treating Lyme disease.

It is my fervent hope that, by treating high-risk tick bites early, nobody under my umbrella will advance to chronic Lyme disease.
